In a recent article by Times of San Diego, a new three-year, $3 million initiative led by the San Diego Foundation with support from the Gates Foundation aims to better connect local students to college and career pathways.

The program will link students from Oceanside Unified School District with MiraCosta College, and students from Sweetwater Union High School District with Southwestern College. Students will gain access to career education, hands-on experience, and counseling, with the goal of graduating with clear, workforce-ready credentials.

San Diego is one of four regions selected for the initiative, which focuses on expanding access from high school to college and into careers.
