Your Image Description

As we approach the upcoming election, we want to recognize many emotions around the election and reaffirm that our campus is committed to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment where every voice is heard and valued. We want to underscore the importance of voting. No matter your political affiliation, ideology, or thoughts on today’s issues, this election offers an opportunity to impact matters that shape our daily lives. If you are eligible to vote and have the opportunity, please make sure your voice is heard!

Other Ways to Engage

If you cannot vote or want to stay engaged in other ways, consider some of these actions:

  • Get involved with an issues-based organization that aligns with your values.
  • Support candidates or causes by participating in text or phone banking.
  • Encourage your friends and loved ones to get involved and stay informed.
  • Engage in conversations about the issues that matter to you.
  • Use personal social media to spread awareness about issues outside of class or work hours.
  • Stay active after Election Day by holding your elected officials accountable.

Voting Options

If you haven’t yet cast your ballot, there’s still time:

  • Return your ballot by mail promptly so it is received well before the final day of voting, November 5. Find a U.S. Postal Service Collection Box (Blue Box) near you.
  • You also have the option to return your ballot to any of the Registrar’s Official Ballot Drop Boxes located around the county. Ballot Drop Box Locations (List)
  • You can return your ballot to any vote center through the final day of voting, Tuesday, November 5. Vote Center Locations (List)
  • Vote in person at the San Diego County Registrar’s office or your designated polling place (hours vary; please check local times).

The MiraCosta College Oceanside Campus will be an official polling location, allowing for early voting from November 2-5. All employees, students, and community members are welcome to vote during this period.

Location: The polling site will be the Board Room (OC1068).

Hours: Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily.

This provides a convenient opportunity for employees and students to participate in the election process. If your schedule permits, consider voting early to avoid longer lines on Election Day. In alignment with election regulations, please avoid political discussions directly at the polling site.

Supporting Your Well-Being

Election season can be intense. MiraCosta is here to support your mental health and well-being. For students who may be impacted, Student Health Services is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., to schedule a session or receive drop-in support.

Whether through voting or other forms of engagement, thank you for participating in the civic process. Together, we can continue building a stronger, more connected community.
