Two dynamic, family-friendly events, the 21st Annual STREAM Festival and the Latino Book & Family Festival, will take place concurrently, offering something for all ages and interests.
Held at 1 Barnard Drive in Oceanside, the events are expected to draw students, families, educators, and community members from across the region for an engaging and enriching experience.
The 21st Annual STREAM Festival, scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., is designed to ignite curiosity and inspire future pathways in science, technology, reading and writing, engineering, arts, and mathematics. The festival features interactive, hands-on activities developed by MiraCosta College students, faculty, staff, and local community partners. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore innovative fields, discover emerging career opportunities, and learn more about MiraCosta College’s educational programs in an engaging, accessible environment.
Taking place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Latino Book & Family Festival celebrates literacy, culture, and community through a wide array of programming and experiences. The festival will feature over 100 booths and showcase the contributions of Latino authors, artists, and organizations committed to empowering the community.
Festival highlights include dedicated “villages” such as Award-Winning Author Row, as well as themed areas focused on health, education, community resources, children’s activities, and food. Attendees can enjoy live entertainment, author readings, music, and interactive programming for children and families. The event also provides an opportunity to connect with community leaders and organizations across sectors, including healthcare, education, energy, labor, nonprofit services, government, and employment.
Together, these two events reflect MiraCosta College’s commitment to fostering educational opportunity, celebrating cultural diversity, and strengthening community connections.
Both festivals are free and open to the public.
