MiraCosta College Announces Exciting Fall Music Lineup

MiraCosta College is thrilled to unveil its diverse music lineup for fall 2023. Supported by dedicated students, faculty, staff, and the MiraCosta College Foundation, these events promise to captivate audiences with exceptional talent and creativity.

Among the highlights is the MiraCosta College Oceanside Jazz Orchestra, affectionately known as MOJO. Renowned as the top large jazz ensemble in the community college category by DownBeat, the nation's premier jazz magazine, MOJO guarantees an unforgettable musical experience.

The fall music lineup at MiraCosta College includes a variety of performances:

Alice Gallagher Recital - September 21, 7:30 p.m. - Experience a captivating recital by Alice Gallagher, showcasing her exceptional musical talents.

Under the Spell of Spain - September 29 & 30, 7:30 p.m. - Immerse yourself in the enchanting music of Spain performed by talented musicians.

Joined in Song: Choral Festival Finale - October 12, 7:30 p.m. - Witness the grand finale of the MiraCosta College Invitational Choral Festival, featuring multiple choirs in a memorable concert.

Dan Siegel Band - October 20, 7:30 p.m. - Enjoy an evening of captivating music as faculty member Dan Siegel performs selections from his solo recordings.

PopRox ROCKtober - October 23, 7:30 p.m. - Get ready to rock with the Popular Music Ensemble as they cover hits from various eras in a high-energy concert.

Frequency Sneak Peek - October 26, 7:30 p.m. - Experience a preview of the Frequency Vocal Jazz Ensemble's repertoire, featuring selected solo performances.

The Magic of Mendelssohn - November 4 & 5, various times - Be transported by the MiraCosta College Symphony Orchestra as they perform classical and romantic music, including Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 5.

An Evening of Funk & Soul with MOJO and Jazz Collective - November 9, 7:30 p.m. - Groove to the rhythm with an unforgettable evening of funk and soul music presented by MOJO and the Jazz Collective.

MOJO in Concert - December 7, 7:30 p.m. - Experience the exceptional talent of the MiraCosta College Oceanside Jazz Orchestra as they perform a captivating concert.

Imagine & Re-Imagined - November 19, 3 p.m. - Delight in a musical journey featuring a variety of genres and arrangements for audiences of all ages.
Celebrate the Season - December 6, 7:30 p.m. - Get into the holiday spirit with the MiraCosta College Symphony Orchestra as they perform a festive repertoire for all to enjoy.

PopRox LIVE - December 11, 7:30 p.m. - Prepare for a full rock concert experience featuring MiraCosta College singers and players in an electrifying performance.

Frequency Winter Concert - December 12, 7:30 p.m. - Enjoy an enchanting choir repertoire and captivating solo performances by the Frequency Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

MiraCosta College fosters a vibrant arts community, nurturing learners passionate about visual and performing arts. MiraCosta College offers creative arts majors that prepare students for art, music, dance, theater, film, design, and photography transfer opportunities for those aspiring to pursue higher education. These majors provide a solid foundation for students to pursue bachelor's or master's degrees in their chosen fields.

Visitors to the campus can also witness the construction of the New Media Arts Complex (Bldg. 2800). This exciting addition includes an art gallery, computer labs, classrooms, and collaboration spaces, further enhancing the arts and theater complex.
