In December 2022, MiraCosta College submitted its 2023 Institutional Self Evaluation Report to the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). The report was written by a team of contributors from across all divisions of the College and documents the results of a multi-year evaluation of how well MiraCosta is meeting the required standards. During the spring semester, an ACCJC Peer Review Team composed of twelve experienced educators from our accrediting region examined evidence contained in the Institutional Self Evaluation Report and determined that the College meets ACCJC standards.

During the next step in the process this fall semester, a small team of the original ACCJC Peer Review Team will visit the College to complete its summative evaluation in the accreditation process. On Monday, September 18, at 11 a.m., the College will host an in-person forum on the Oceanside Campus in Aztlan A/B (OC3400), which will be open to all students, employees, and members of the community to meet, interact with, and hear from the ACCJC Peer Review Team members.

Later in the day at 1 p.m., the ACCJC Peer Review Team will give an exit report of their draft findings from their review in the Board Room (OCT200). These draft findings will form the basis of the ACCJC Peer Review Team’s evaluation report that will be submitted to the Commission for review in January 2024.
