MiraCosta College Holds Community Leaders Breakfast October 21

 Members of the public are invited to attend MiraCosta College’s Annual Community Leaders Breakfast: Report to the Region on Friday, October 21, at the Cape Rey Resort in Carlsbad.

MiraCosta College Superintendent/President Sunita Cooke will provide updates about the District’s accomplishments and vision. MiraCosta College’s 2022 Annual Report looking back on the 2021-22 academic year, will also be released. “In these dynamic times, MiraCosta College is taking a futures approach to ensure we can serve students and the community of tomorrow,” Cooke said.

Gabriel Simpson, a student in MiraCosta College’s biomanufacturing bachelor's degree program, will talk about his experience. Simpson initially struggled in school, but with the support of MiraCosta College staff, he was admitted into the competitive program.

Shannon Stubblefield, Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the Foundation, will have an exciting announcement about the Foundation. “MiraCosta College plays a vital role in our community in educating our students and preparing for the workforce of tomorrow,” Stubblefield said. “We’re proud to highlight our achievements and look ahead to future endeavors.”

Julie Hatoff, a former MiraCosta College administrator, and her husband, David, will be honored as MiraCosta College’s Philanthropists of the Year.

 

Attendees will enjoy a complimentary breakfast and networking from 7-7:30 a.m., followed by the program from 7:30-9 a.m. Please RSVP to attend.
