This October, MiraCosta College invites you to celebrate Pilipinx American History Month (PAHM) with a series of events that honor the vibrant cultural heritage and contributions of the Pilipinx American community. From educational displays to engaging workshops and a festive celebration, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and learn.

Learning Commons | Library Display
October 1-31, 2024

Discover a collection of Filipino artifacts that reflect the rich traditions of the Pilipinx community. The display features items such as barongs, traditional dresses, mancala games, and more, offering a window into the beauty and history of Pilipinx culture. Visit throughout October to explore and learn about the cultural significance of these cherished artifacts. Check out curated books and films here

I Belong Where I Am: An Impostor Syndrome Workshop

Ever felt like you didn’t belong, even when you achieved success? This workshop explores Impostor Syndrome from a Pilipina’s perspective, providing insights and tools to navigate feelings of self-doubt. All are welcome to join us in this supportive and informative session.

PAHM Festival

Don’t miss the main event of Pilipinx American History Month! The PAHM Festival promises a vibrant celebration with delicious food, music, and an opportunity to get hands-on with parol (lantern) kits. Come together to honor unity, joy, and the cultural legacy of the Pilipinx American community.
