MiraCosta College is proud to present an array of captivating arts and cultural events this October, showcasing the incredible talent of students, faculty, and visiting artists. From classic Shakespearean theater to dynamic musical performances and a celebration of dance, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Theatre: Much Ado About Nothing 
In Shakespeare’s beloved comedy Much Ado About Nothing, love, wit, and intrigue collide in the most delightful ways. Tracy Williams directs this timeless tale and features a merry war of wits between the sharp-tongued Beatrice and the equally witty Benedick. Their banter sparks laughter and romance, captivating audiences for centuries. From the youthful passion of Claudio and Hero to the clever machinations of Don Pedro and the villainous Don John, every moment in this play is a journey through the complexities of love and honor.
Show Dates: September 27, 28, October 3, 4, 5, at 7:30 p.m.; September 29, and October 5, 6, at 2 p.m.
Location: MiraCosta College Theatre
Note: Children under the age of 5 are not admitted.

Salute to Tchaikovsky 
Join the MiraCosta College Symphony Orchestra for a night of unforgettable music featuring the works of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. From the passion of the "Overture to Romeo and Juliet" to the virtuosic fireworks of "Piano Concerto No. 1" in B-flat major, featuring faculty member Dr. Wan-Chin Chang, to the iconic "Symphony No. 6 (Pathétique)", this concert, directed by Maestro Branden Muresan, will be a powerful tribute to the legendary composer.
Dates: Friday, October 18, and Saturday, October 19, at 7:30 p.m.

Frequency Sneak Peek 
Get a first look at this year’s Frequency Vocal Jazz Ensemble before they travel to the Cuesta College Vocal Jazz Festival in November. The ensemble, directed by Matt Falker, will showcase their repertoire with the full choir and selected soloists.

PopRox ROCKtober 
The Popular Music Ensemble will cover a mix of hits from the 70s to today. Students in small ensembles, directed by Justin Joyce, will perform songs from various eras in this lively and energetic showcase. Come rock out with us!
Date: Monday, October 28, at 7:30 p.m.

Festival of Choirs 
Experience the joy of choral music as guest choirs from across San Diego County join the MiraCosta College Invitational Choral Festival. The evening, directed by Dr. Arlie Langager, will culminate in a mass choir performance featuring all the singers.
Date: Tuesday, October 29, at 7:30 p.m.
Location: MiraCosta College Concert Hall

Dance Studio Hour (DSH) 
This informal performance showcases the diversity of dance styles explored by students in MiraCosta College's dance classes. Celebrate our dance students' hard work and creativity in this free event.
Date: Thursday, October 24, at 6:30 p.m.
