At 76, Former MiraCosta Student Graduates from Cal State San Marcos

Former MiraCosta College student Kathryn Cook, at 76, will be the oldest graduate of Cal State San Marcos' Class of 2024. Her journey, spanning 50 years, began at Grossmont College in 1965, where she met her husband, Ed. After a career in dental care and raising two children, she earned an associate degree from MiraCosta College in 2008. Following Ed's death in 2019, Cook volunteered extensively and enrolled in sociology at Cal State San Marcos in 2023. Her graduation honors Ed's memory and her lifelong dedication to learning.
