MiraCosta College Commemorates Women's History and Heritage Month in March

03/1/2024
Throughout history, women have been at the forefront of advocating for change, from Abigail Adams urging the nation's founders to "remember the ladies" to the tireless efforts of suffragists like Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and activists like Sojourner Truth and Rosa Parks. This month, we also recognize the transformative activism of transgender icons Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson, the labor activism of Dolores Huerta, and the groundbreaking achievements of Ellen Ochoa in space exploration. These women have all contributed to the rich mosaic of our country's history.

At MiraCosta College, we are privileged to have a community of talented women in formal and informal leadership roles. Their creativity, dedication, and passion for excellence inspire us daily. We are excited to invite the entire campus community to engage in various events to explore and celebrate women's dynamic roles in our society.
