Join Us for the Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend Activities. MiraCosta College is proud to collaborate with our community partner, the North San Diego County NAACP, in hosting a series of events honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This weekend of reflection, service, and community engagement reflects our commitment to embodying the values Dr. King championed.

Date: Saturday, January 13

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Location: MiraCosta Oceanside Campus —Theater Patio (Map)

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. All volunteers must check in/register at the designated area near the campus police. No pre-registration is required, but it is encouraged to ensure adequate supplies for everyone. Post check-in, volunteers will select from ten service projects across North County. The day will begin with a light breakfast, followed by a brief message from the NSDC NAACP, a group photo, and dispatch to service sites at 9:00 a.m.

As a member of the chamber choir and Umoja, she demonstrates the power of perseverance and community. Shann Davis, Jr.: As a dynamic leader, aspiring actor, and educator, Davis, Jr.’s involvement with the Black Student Union, A2MEND, and student government highlights his commitment to service and leadership.
