Starting fall 2023, the Employment Success Skills program offers a comprehensive curriculum over a single semester and is scheduled 100% online to suit the schedules of working professionals. This program is not just a game-changer; it’s a life-changer.
"Local employers have spoken, and we’ve listened," states Erica Duran, Chair of the Noncredit and Career Preparation Program at MiraCosta College. "We consistently heard from employers that they struggle to find employees with the soft skills essential for long-term success. Therefore, we've developed a curriculum that fills this critical gap, elevating our students above the competition."
One Program, Four Critical Skills, Unlimited Potential
The Employment Success Skills program dives deep into four cornerstone courses:
Communication in the Workplace: Master the art of conveying ideas and solutions effectively as both a colleague and a leader
Social and Diversity Awareness in the Workplace: Navigate the complexities of an increasingly diverse work environment.
Time Management and Goal Setting: Develop skills to manage tasks efficiently and set achievable goals.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Learn to be a proactive team player who contributes to shared objectives.
Additionally, students will choose from a supplementary course in either English, English as a Second Language, or employability skills to round off their training.
"Ultimately, this program is not about helping students land a job; it’s about making them indispensable employees who will rise through the ranks," adds Duran.
