MiraCosta College Alumni Association Creates Endowed Scholarship to Assist More Graduates

03/2/2023
MiraCosta College today announced that its Alumni Association Transfer Scholarship has become an endowed scholarship, enabling even more students to benefit from the funding and pursue their academic dreams.

The MiraCosta Alumni Association, under the MiraCosta Foundation, is a nonprofit organization that serves and supports the MiraCosta College community. The goal of the MiraCosta College Alumni Association is to develop stronger relationships between current students, graduates, parents, and friends who support MiraCosta College. The Alumni Association serves the diverse needs and interests of the community and alumni network by providing educational opportunities, campus and local events, plus benefits, and services.

The Alumni Association Transfer Scholarship was created to support students who transfer to a four-year institution, have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher, and have participated in service learning hours while enrolled at MiraCosta College. The first Alumni Association Transfer Scholarship recipient will be announced in 2023 and will receive $500 to support their ongoing education at a four-year institution.

“Scholarships can be the missing piece for a student to reach their full academic and career potential,” shared Shannon Stubblefield, Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the MiraCosta College Foundation. “The Alumni Association team has worked hard to fundraise for this specific scholarship and we are overjoyed to finally offer more opportunities for our graduates.”

In 2022, MiraCosta College provided $444,549 in scholarship funding to students. The Alumni Association Transfer Scholarship will become the latest among the scholarship offerings at MiraCosta College that help offset the rising costs of a four-year university. Future recipients will join a long list of accomplished MiraCosta College alumni who are leaders in their fields across the local economy and the globe.

Individuals interested in applying for the MiraCosta Alumni Association Transfer Scholarship can do so here before March 31, 2023
