The MiraCosta College Foundation  is proud to announce Jonathan  Cole as the 2018 MiraCosta  Cares! Philanthropist of the Year.  Congratulations, Professor Cole!

Jonathan’s tremendous altruistic  spirit, long philanthropic legacy,  and passion for education are a  beacon of inspiration to our entire  community, and we are proud to present him with this award.

For the past 15 years, Jonathan  has given over $19,000 to important causes, such as  textbooks and scholarships, and  countless MiraCosta students have  benefitted from his generosity over  the years. He served as Academic from one full-time faculty and five sections a year to three full-time  faculty and over twenty sections per year.

In addition, he has emerged as  an insightful advocate for climate  change solutions. Currently,  Jonathan is implementing an  innovative climate change  curriculum developed in collaboration with researchers  across the UC system. This program  will enable MiraCosta students to  engage meaningfully with the issue of climate change while exposing  them to cutting-edge trends and  ideas developing in the field.
