Meet Kailer Brown

Kailer Brown has always loved sports and knew she wanted to get a job in the athletics field. After graduating from MiraCosta College this spring, Brown is now beginning her studies in sports administration at Belmont University in Nashville.

Brown, who started at MiraCosta College in Fall 2023, wanted to attend college close to home when she graduated from San Dieguito Academy. She was scheduled for surgery on her jaw, and wanted to recover at home. When she had the surgery in Spring 2024, she said all her professors were helpful to her.

“My professors were really great,” she said. “Every professor I had was amazing. They were accommodating and supportive.”

Brown, who majored in business administration, said Business Administration Professor Annie Ngo was especially encouraging.

“She was really supportive and whenever I needed extra help, she would get back to me right away,” Brown said. “I recommend her to everyone to take her class.”

Brown worked as a student ambassador and as a front desk assistant at the San Elijo campus while attending classes. As a student ambassador, she encouraged high school students to attend MiraCosta College.

“I think everyone should go to MiraCosta. You don’t have to have the money to go,” she said. “The professors are really nice, and even if you have some challenges, you’re going to get a great education. The professors are great and they really want to help you.”

Brown has always loved watching sports, whether it’s the San Diego Padres, football, basketball or hockey. She majored in business administration because she figured that would best align with a career in a sports organization.

She decided to attend Belmont University because it has a sports administration program and small class sizes. She’s grateful that Ngo stepped up again to show that Brown already had taken business statistics and won’t have to repeat the class at Belmont.

Brown’s dream job is to one day work for a sports team like the San Diego Padres. She’s well on her way toward achieving her dream.
