Meet Ann Crosbie

Ann Crosbie is a longtime education advocate and Trustee with deep roots in San Diego's academic community.

Crosbie’s public service career began in Fremont when she was first witnessed the equity gaps facing students across different schools in the region. In response, Crosbie joined the Fremont School Facilities Committee to ensure all students had access to the same resources. Following her success in this role, Crosbie was then appointed to the Ohlone Community College Board where she helped oversee the implementation of a bond that upgraded and expanded the school’s outdated facilities. She later was elected and served eight years as a Trustee on the Fremont Unified School District Board, helping pass a $600 million bond to build new schools.

Now back in San Diego, Crosbie is eager to give back to the region that she calls home. Born and raised in Del Mar, Crosbie comes from a family of educators - her mother was an early childhood education specialist who taught teachers, while her father helped establish the Center for Music Experimentation at UCSD. A lifelong learner, Crosbie also knows firsthand how important MiraCosta College is to the community. After graduating from UCSD, Crosbie took a variety of classes at MiraCosta College as an adult student while raising her daughters, all of whom also attended community college as part of their higher education journey.

Crosbie is eager to bring her deep knowledge of the community college and education systems to support the MiraCosta College Board of Trustees and advocate for the betterment of all students. “I am honored to serve as a Trustee to ensure that all students in our community receive the life-changing education that they deserve,” shared Crosbie.
