Meet Jarrett Rogers

Jarrett Rogers calls it a “pivotal moment in life” when he was accepted into MiraCosta College’s Summer Bridge Program. The six-week academic boot camp gave Jarrett skills to excel in college.

“Every day beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. was constant note-taking, class participation, research and fun. There was never a dull moment,” says Jarrett.

He was voted “Most Outstanding” in the program and came away with a $150 scholarship. His high academic achievements won him four scholarships, including the St. Vincent de Paul Scholarship, a MiraCosta College Foundation scholarship, the Geraldine Memorial Scholarship, and the Mississippi Industrial College Alumni Association, Inc. Scholarship. He was also a member of the MiraCosta College Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society.

When he graduated from Fallbrook High School, Jarrett enrolled at MiraCosta College because he wanted to stay close to home to help his mother and five younger siblings while his father, a helicopter pilot in the Marine Corps, was deployed to Iraq.

Jarrett graduated from MiraCosta College with a major in business and a focus on entrepreneurial studies.
