Introductory Biology: Animal Diversity

This life sciences course challenges students to think critically and demonstrate hypothetico-deductive reasoning within basic biological concepts, such as evolution, ecology, behavior, physiology, and development, while focusing on diversity within the animal kingdom. This course is intended for non-science majors. UC CREDIT LIMITATION: Credit for BIO 103, BIO 105, BIO 110, or BIO 111.

Instructor notes: This course is 100% online; there is no on-campus testing requirement. Each week will include 3-4 lecture topics (videos, web page-type lectures, & text readings). Weekly assignments to complete include a discussion board posting, a set of homework study questions, and a quiz. Two large projects will be completed over the course of the semester. Please note that all assignments have specific windows of availability and specific due dates -- i.e., this is not a self-paced class. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
