Instructor notes: HIST 111 (U.S. History II) Units: 3; Professor: Karl M. Golemo. Welcome to our online course! My name is Professor Karl M. Golemo, and I will be your instructor for our Fall, 2019 session. I will send a global email message to every student, once our CANVAS course is completed and has been made available. To access our CANVAS site, you'll need to log-on to the MiraCosta Portal log-in site, with your ID and password. Then, you should see the CANVAS site listed, and click on that to enter our course site. As you may know, MiraCosta College now only uses CANVAS, and we no longer have Blackboard, Moodle, or any other online platform. So, if you are new to CANVAS, don't worry; I am new to it, as well. So, we'll work through it, together, I am sure, and MiraCosta's Tech Department will be happy to help you, when you have questions or other issues. Our textbook will be: "American Stories: A History of the United States," Volume 2, by Brands, Breen, et al., from Prentice Hall. You can use the 2nd edition or a more recent edition. Please email me (using the email address listed above), if you need assistance. If necessary, we can try to find a time to meet in person: (760) 651-2641. The best way to contact me, however, is through email. We'll have a great semester, and I look forward to working with you all! Sincerely, Karl M. Golemo (Professor of History, Languages, and Literature).
