Singing Classes at MiraCosta

Are you thinking of studying voice at the college level?
The music program at MiraCosta College offers credit courses for group singing classes for students of all levels and individual voice lessons to students interested in college transfer as music majors.
MUS 141 - Vocal Fundamentals
Vocal Fundamentals gives group and individual instruction in singing technique, including study of breathing, voice placement, diction, phrasing, and interpretation.
MUS 141 may be taken up to four semesters.
No audition is required.
This class is accepted for transfer by CSU and UC.
MUS 144 - Applied Music (Voice)
The Applied Music class is intended for students interested in transfering to 4-year colleges as music performance majors. Advanced study of performance technique (for both vocal and instrumental majors) coordinated with formal recitals. Students learn musical performance technique, historical performance practice, and effective programming with master teachers.
Prerequisite: For advanced music performers by audition only at the first class meeting.
Corequisite: MUS 145 - Performance Lab.
This class is accepted for transfer by CSU and UC.
