The Philippine Nurses Association of San Diego (PNASD) has recognized Roland Estrella as “Educator of the Year” for 2011. Roland was nominated by another member who witnessed his involvement in teaching within the association, tutoring of students in the health care field, and serving as Nursing Faculty. Roland received a similar award in 2006, at a Council of Philippine American Organizations of San Diego event.
Roland also received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Bob Filner on September 24th “in recognition of outstanding and invaluable service to the community.” Congressman Bob Filner presented the award at the PNASD Scholarship Awards Banquet.
