Crime Scene Investigation - Oceanside
How do real detectives solve crimes? Participate in a simulated mystery where you become the detective as you learn logic, inductive and deductive reasoning, data collection and analysis. Become investigators in a program designed to encourage participation, observation and detective skills. Visit “evidence scenes,” and discover clues as a group. Then put it all together to solve the mystery!
5-7th Grade July 27-31, 1pm-4pm Tuition: $120 OC

Dr. Who? - 4 Days, 4 Doctors
Explore the wonderful world of medicine, dentistry, surgery and veterinary science. You will enjoy meeting and learning from those who are practicing in the medical field. We will have one knowledgeable instructor throughout the week and bring in guest doctors each day who will share what they do. This is a hands-on class where you get to experiment with medical equipment and discover the wonders of science and medicine through interactive sessions. Not for the faint of heart!

Future Energy Engineers
Come explore the exciting choices in Alternative Energy- Wind, Solar, Hydrogen, Bio-Fuel, Geo-thermal, Hydro-Power, tidal power, etc. Work with energy experts using real PV and Wind power training equipment. End the week with a field trip through the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant. We all want to live in a clean and green environment and leave this planet in a livable condition for future generations. You can help by learning the mechanics of alternative clean and green fuel for our daily use. Parent volunteers will be needed for transportation to/from San Onofre Power Plant on July 17th. Let us know when you register if you would like to volunteer!

Kites/Planes/Spaceships
Get ready to soar above and beyond the clouds! Explore the history of flying machines and create your own unique aerial objects. Draw, paint, and craft as you discover how engineers study the science of flight. This is a beginning level aerospace class and the program is designed for those with little or no background knowledge of the principles of flight. You will learn the basics of different aspects of flight: airplanes, kites, hot air balloons, rockets, and spaceships. You will also build and launch several small model rockets and create an edible model of the space shuttle. Complete your experience by trying out some delicious (or not so delicious) astronaut food. Find out what it takes to, ”Go boldly where no one has gone before.”

Oceanography
Explore the mysterious depths of our world’s oceans. From ship wrecks to tube worms, this is a hands-on discovery of life under the sea. Learn about dolphins and whales, and find out how smart they are! Discover what it’s like to work aboard a scientific ocean-exploration ship. Explore marine biology and ecology up-close-and-personal on an exciting adventure to the Birch Aquarium and La Jolla tide pools on the last day of class. Parent volunteers will be needed for transportation to/from La Jolla on July 24th and 31st. Let us know when you register if you would like to volunteer!
