ART

Art Exploration
2–4 grade • July 21–25 • 1 p.m.–4 p.m.
In this class, students will work on three main projects: linoleum art printing, pop art papier-mâché, and jewelry
making with everyday objects. Linoleum art printing teaches students to cut linoleum into different shapes and
work with ink to create fine arts stamps. Pop art papier-mâché takes the well-known art medium to a new, fun
level. Students will create papier-mâché art that mimics colorful commercial food products like a Doritos bag. The jewelry making portion of this class is fun for all students.  You will learn to make jewelry from various objects you encounter everyday, such as magazines. Students will come home with many great gifts!
Materials fee: $20 collected on first day of class (Cash or check made out to instructor).
Tuition: $120

discover their talent!

Cartooning

5–8 grade • July 14–18 • 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Students will learn how to draw all of their favorite cartoon characters and will even create some of their
own! Students don’t have to be good artists to be good cartoonists. In just one week most students will draw
like the pros! This course will include making “flip books,” writing stories with cartoons, and creating comic strips.  By the end of class, students will master techniques used by professional cartoonists, discover their own hidden talents, and gain an appreciation for the arts.
Materials fee: None—Student class supplies list will be mailed.
Tuition: $99 includes all fees

Mosaics Plus!
5–8 grade • July 7–11 • 1 p.m.–4 p.m.
Our mosaics instructor earns her living creating and selling gorgeous mosaic trays, mirrors, ceramic statues
and other household items using broken china, bits of stone, colored glass and marble. She will teach you how
to design and create your own beautiful, individual mosaic piece. You will also have the opportunity to create other surprise projects throughout the week; items that you will be proud to own or give away. It is messy, it is totally creative, it is tons of fun, and it can even be the start to your artistic career!
