The MiraCosta Theatre Spotlight Circle organization provides scholarships for outstanding students in the program.

Merit Awards at the end of each Fall and Spring semester to selected students who are actively involved with the MiraCosta College Theatre Program.

These Merit Awards are based upon student experience, contributions to the theatre program, and a serious commitment to the performing arts. Selected students receive funds that can range from $200 to $500

      Criteria considered for awarding the Friends of the Theatre Merit Scholarship include the following:

    Student must be actively involved with the MiraCosta College Drama Department, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75, and be a returning student at MiraCosta College.
    To be considered for this award please submit a TYPED application that includes the following information:

  • Name, current phone number and mailing address, and Social Security  number.
  • Coursework you have pursued in the MiraCosta College
        Drama Department.
  • Theatre productions you participated in at MiraCosta College, both  backstage and on stage.
  • Future educational and career goals.
  • Courses you plan to enroll in next semester.
  • you feel you should be awarded this Merit scholarship and how it will assist you.
  • information on any financial assistance you may be receiving, or plan to receive. Please note that if you are awarded this Merit Scholarship it may affect the amount of financial aid that you receive from other sources.
  • THE APPLICATION'S FORMAT AND CONTENT DOES COUNT!

    Submit your application to the Drama Department's secretary.

     

    High school students! Interested in getting a Theatre Scholarship to MiraCosta? Your drama teacher has a MiraCosta Theatre scholarship in his/her name (courtesy of the MiraCosta Theatre Spotlight Circle) that is to be awarded every year to the outstanding high school senior who plans to attend MiraCosta College to study Theatre in the Fall semester following graduation.
